Author’s note
I published October in December 2021, as a physical, home-made chapbook.
It was the final project for a poetry writing course I took in college. We had to print enough copies to distribute to the whole class. I still have all my classmates’ chapbooks!
Now, in July 2024, I’ve created a version of October for the web.
In this new version, I removed some poems that I wasn’t attached to, that I felt were just assignments for the class, and I added some that I feel are reflective of my work and headspace during this time.
The illustrations mostly come from the margins of my notebooks at the time.
I want to acknowledge the encouragement and feedback of my professor and classmates. Not sure if any of y’all will ever see this, but I hope you’re doing well!
