As the sun is setting,
I realize I am surrounded by good people of all ages:
a young person majoring in math, not yet knowing what he wants to do with his degree – only knowing he’s learning what he enjoys learning about.
a retired chemist teaching himself how to write poems.
a man who works and works and works to survive, motivated by the hope of funding his dreams.
a soft-spoken woman rewarding those who listen closely with her wonderful insights – she is like a songbird you hear in the distance.
Reflected in the window of a dimly-lit restaurant, I look like a stranger to myself. I like this lonely face. I realize that I’d like to get to know this person better.
