Dreaming of goldfinches
Specifically, winter ones, with their muted colors, and their black wings with striking white stripes.
This morning, three visited the feeder.
The night before, I dreamt of seeing a pileated woodpecker. I’ve never seen one in real life before – just in photos. I hope to see it some day.
A red-bellied woodpecker has been loyally visiting the feeder ever since the snow storm. So has a nuthatch, some chickadees. And so have the expected juncos and house finches.
